Palm Beach Photographic Centre – Chris taught a week long master class called Chiaroscuro, The Magic of Light and Shadow.
This class explored the theory and practical application of light with with drama, power and emotion. The Centre proved a wonderful venue to work and study light. Art and Fatima Nejame have created a sanctuary crackling with the energy of photographic creativity. Thanks to the staff and the students for a great week.
Here’s a few images from the workshop:

Big Air Craziness at the 10th X Games in Aspen, Colorado. It’s a little known fact that Christopher cut his teeth shooting action photography. To this day, he still enjoys taking aim on moving targets.

Sophie’s Glass
Glass is a maddening challenge for any photographer. Art glass can be highly reflective like a mirror and translucent at the same time. These surface qualities call for very different lighting techniques.
Yet, we are fortunate to have had the opportunity to photograph Sophie Parrott’s glass artistry. Her work features strong, simple forms, deliciously rich color, and creative embellishments of metal details. Best of luck, Sophie.

New Mexico Magazine
Bob & Chelle Durbin had a vision. They wanted their home to blend with the baked rock and hoodoos of the high desert overlooking Farmington, New Mexico.
Built of traditional adobe, the house has 17 sun tubes that fill the home with light, solar panels atop the roof provide for all their hot water needs and then some.

Christopher Marona featured in Camera Arts Magazine!
Christopher has just been featured in the new issue of Camera Arts magazine. Camera Arts is an international publication that showcases “The Art and Craft of Photography in the 21st Century.”
The article shows a glimpse of Christopher’s career and is illustrated with six of his photographs.
“In order to create this body of work, Marona had to apply a keen photographic understanding, both technical and aesthetic to different shooting situations.”
“He had to work with…his mind and his instincts. This was one of the most challenging and ultimately rewarding aspects of his work with the cowboys. As he describes it, there was ‘less structure than with most commercial work.’ what mattered was ‘who were you with and a little magic.’ in other words the serendipity of the moment.”

Winter 2006 Luxe Magazine
Luxe showcased this Telluride beauty in an eight page feature article. Designed by architect, Andrew Porth, the home commands some of the finest views in the county. With a nod to the owner’s former life as a fighter pilot, the home features an air traffic control tower. Though used as an office it has a birds eye view of the Telluride airport.
